i gotta be honest i really, really don't fucking like folks memeing this shit

the problem with repeating these as a joke is that people's brains - including yours - always have at least one chunk somewhere that's too dumb to tell the difference

and the problem here is that it's such a small, subtle, insidious association that that chunk gets a lot bigger

it is so much fucking worse than that stupid 4chan KOREA EAT CAT meme or anything people say about chinese folks eating dogs

with the anti-Asian stuff the stereotype is that we're weird and barbaric and don't value sentient life the way good western protestant christians do: ~oh yeah over in Barbaria they do fucked up shit like eat dogs~ (and over there in La Barbare they eat horses)

the way trump was talking about the haitians though - this image of invasives wandering into town and stealing your pets to chow down on them - that's how you fucking talk about coyotes

not weird foreign people but animals you may shoot in peacetime

the main difference is that nobody talks about actual coyotes with that hateful sneering tone

it's dehumanizing in ways other racist descriptions of people eating animals anglos consider taboo are usually not, and it does so in a way that's

really

fucking

catchy

and we're all just... eating it up, digesting it, regurgitating it for the colony until the whole nest has swallowed the poison
