Hey #drupal community,
We just realized that there are many drupal websites out there that need updates of various forms (typically from 8 to 10, but also some 6-to 10 exist) but there seem to be not many people capable of doing them. We know there are companies that specialized on it, but some cultural associations like us rely on drupal for their archives and are having a hard time to find individuals capable of migrate and update large, older websites without going to a company.

Anyone with the same problem with #drupal?
Anyone with experience on possible solutions that do not require migration on other cms?
We have luckily someone that can take care of our backend, but I am asking for a few friends :)

@servus I think that's an issue at large, not specially related to migration. (I feel like) There's less junior people joining the Drupal community and quite a few left Drupal when we switched to 8.0, meaning the talent pool is smaller than ever. A lot of senior people are working for big name companies making good pay. The Drupal CMS initiative wants to fix that, so let's hope it works! :)

@servus We'd like to find ways to archive an OpenAtrium https://co-munity.net/ and other small sites, such as https://degrowth.community/ or https://ecobytes.net/ running within it, in some browsable and searchable form. Some things are private and were meant to be private, but running their BOA eats a lot of resources.
I believe that there are more drupal Sites out there, than we think of.

@servus I'm a freelancer who has done many, many, many Drupal upgrades and migrations over the past 8 years. From D5/6/7 to D8/9/10. D8 to D9 to D10, wordpress, blogger, Civi, other DBs into Drupal, etc. If you want to chat about what you need please let me know, I sort of specialise in being the solution when you need one person instead of a company to deal with the big Drupal sites.
