@pawel Almost everyone I contact regularly uses telegram. There are like 3 people I can contact on Signal. And there are 2 people I can reach on google hangouts (or whatever it is being called now).

Also, I know some of them are using whatsapp, but I'm not there.

The answer for me is Facebook Messenger + Whatsapp + Signal (+ SMS + a private Mastodon instance + e-mail, and even some on Instagram PMs or LinkedIn PMs).

@pawel I voted for WhatsApp because that's what I use with my son, wife, brother, parents and several friends. But I also have close friends I use Telegram or Facebook Messenger with. I never express a preference and just go with whatever app people tell me they use.

@pawel "Regular Text Messages" is missing - I use Messenger with a handful of people, most importantly my daughter, but I use regular texts much more & much more widely.
