I recently learned about hitbox, a controller for fighting games where the joystick is replaced with 4 buttons.
what if split hitbox?

@gkrnours Not as good without adjustments
One of the really cool things about using a leverless is that the jump button (big central one) is positioned such that you can easily reach it with either hand. This makes a bunch of seemingly counterintuitive things easier. For example, when doing a "360 motion", I do a half circle with the directions hand, then use the buttons hand to press both up and the face button I want at the same time
Would also not be as handy for lap gaming

@gkrnours I can totally see how that would make for some nice table-top experience, though, if you have a thinner form factor. These things DO tend to be pretty huge and require some desk arrangement shenanigans

@VileLasagna you could have two "up" buttons, one on each side

@gkrnours Yeah, that would be the "adjustment" necessary to the layout. Unless, y'know, the player in question uses what's known as a "mixbox layout" where the directional inputs are in the shape of a keyboard's directional inputs (a lot of the time they just straight up use mechanical keyboard keys too)
