Ancestors

Preparing to introduce students to #earlymodern #history with a new lecture in the fall. I'm planning to introduce each topic through a little interactive reflection on items of material culture (e.g. emergency currency for warfare, a plough for the agricultural economy,...)

What would you have liked to know about the period in your first semester, #histodons?

Boosts and answers welcome!

Thanks! Indeed, the combination of local and cultural history is extremely important. I am trying to let students grasp this (pun intended) through some of the objects and stories I present.

Which aspect of her numerous works did you like most?

@AnkeFK ‘Small Books and Pleasant Histories’ is one of my favourites, about how reading practices and stories were lived.

And as a knitter and dressmaker, "The Clothing of the Common Sort (1570-1700)".
