Preparing to introduce students to #earlymodern #history with a new lecture in the fall. I'm planning to introduce each topic through a little interactive reflection on items of material culture (e.g. emergency currency for warfare, a plough for the agricultural economy,...)

Thanks! Indeed, the combination of local and cultural history is extremely important. I am trying to let students grasp this (pun intended) through some of the objects and stories I present.
