I’m about to move my office into my detached garage. I have cat6 running (underground) out to the garage, but it’s currently not connected to anything. I will need some new networking equipment. I currently have an Archer A20 serving the house. It’s been fine, but there are some rooms that get poor wifi coverage. #networks
I’m looking at #ubiquiti equipment. Any advice?

I’m considering a dream router to replace the A20, a switch for the garage, and an additional access point for the front of the house. Does this make sense?

@tedchoward When the dream router was first released about two years back I picked one up and had many issues with it. Ubiquiti replaced it twice but each had its own, different set of issues that made it unworkable. I ended up returning it. I'm hoping (and assuming) that the reliability issues have been resolved since them. Note that the dream router only achieves about 700 Mbps. Most people find that to be more than enough, but keep that in mind.
I'm now using a dream machine pro and two APs and it's always rock solid. Total overkill for my house, but I have 10 Gbps fiber and wanted something to match it.
My experience with the dream router notwithstanding, I have nothing but positive things to say about ubiquiti
