OK, this video is in Portuguese, but I think you can still understand it just by watching.

The gist of it is that this dude installed Alexa in his fucking truck. He used controller boards and relays, and managed to give Alexa complete control of the vehicle. It can engage and disengage the handbrake, accelerate and break and even turn the fucking thing.

I must concede that this was a pretty impressive thing to do, specially to the level of control he got to. But still, WTF, this is one of the most retarded things I've ever seen someone doing. Why the fuck would you willingly give control of your truck to a fucking spyware assistant?

I mean, it's not as bad as those fully automated cars because the guy still has mechanical control over the truck. But it's still dumb, and the guy is one malfunction away from his truck to decide to run through his garage door.

Oh yeah, he also did the same to his car (it doesn't show in the video, but he mentions it at the beginning).

If you have that skill and go through that much trouble, you can just run your own voice assistant (Jarvis or MyCroft or whatever) ... I feel like people are totally unaware how insanely invasive all this tech is.

I run my own e-mail server and don't have GApps on my phone, and I'm the crazy one.
