I also need to get the #emacs side working to at least a similar level of crudeness. I already have the code to extract the structure of a task from an org buffer. I need to hook it up with with-editor and a transient menu

I'm hoping that the path shown by ekg paves a way for a new kind of #emacs applications. Where the data is kept in an sqlite db. So it can more easily intregate with the rest of the world (at the cost of flexiblity).

In my limited experience threads and timers are not nice to use from elisp. So I'd rather handle timers in #rust
