Guys I started playing the piano again!!! How much time a session dedicated to one song should last a day? #piano #pianolearning

@pitrouillesque I try to sneak in at least an hour long practice session a day, but that would be for everything including scales, arpeggios, chord inversion practice plus the song I’m currently working on. Not sure if it it true, but I feel like it is possible to over practice a song to the point that I start reinforcing my mistakes instead of improving the performance.

@pitrouillesque Now if I can, I will definitely go more than an hour, but if I do, I will expand to revisit pieces of my repertoire or work on other technique exercises rather than to keep on the same piece. However, really, if you feel like you are making progress and not getting stuck, I doubt you can work too hard.

@nathan you're confirming thoughts I had but thought were mistakes! Thanks a lot, bc one hour or more seems doable. When I was doing 2/3 hours I noticed fast progress by working on several pieces at a time + theory, time just flies
