Uh. I’m afraid without some kind of “we are using this particular phrasing for this particular reason” that phrase has just redflagged me right out of the survey.
I mention this as feedback for your student. If you’re researching a subculture and you’re not using their own terms, you need to say why.

@_sorcha Varies between games and there’s no standard (which is why I’d expect an explanatory - especially since the most-widely used term is etymologically gendered), but GM is the most often used in my experience.
I have never ever heard of anyone moderating a game, and that’s the bump.
