The last two days I'm getting a 502 Bad Gateway error when trying to reach the Linuxrocks PeerTube server.

@ericbuijs server is down/disappeared. I'm afraid, this is one of the real problems with peertube right now

@3dcandy I've uploaded all my videos to Linuxrocks so it's annoying that I can't edit my channel. I'm thinking about moving to a more reliable server.
PeerTube has so much potential but it's plagued by instable servers, mediocre content, moderation problems, fragmentation and lack of discoverability.
edit: But I'm not going back to YT that's for sure

@ericbuijs well it seems the server is offline, so it might return. I can recommend makertube as an instance that appears pretty stable. I'd request an account there - my stuff is mirrored from youtube and there are some fresh uploads there too.

@3dcandy Thanks I'll take a good look at that instance.

@ericbuijs you are welcome. It has decent specs, allows livestreaming. About the only thing it doesn't have is the xr plugin installed for 360 video

@3dcandy MakerTube seems like a good choice so now I'm slowly uploading my videos to that instance.

@ericbuijs
@omnipotens appears to be someone who could help get this resolved.
The most common cause of those random 502 errors is running out of disk space causing postgresql to shut down. Instances with an active administration team can easily fix this once reported, Unfortunately most instances have either no reporting mechanism, or one that isn't findable or functional when the instance is down. For my confederation I use hetrix https://hetrixtools.com/r/d4b2e178fe4958a6e8fdb3ec0ea707db to proactively monitor outages
