Having one of those days where I miss the life of a Rails dev.
Laughing about the time I migrated someone off Magento. 😨
Rails has probably been enshitified while I've been away but I miss the simple joy of shipping features a customer cares about instead of filling out corporate paperwork full time.

@snarfmason FWIW, my colleagues keep posting about the cool new features in upcoming Rails releases that they’re looking forward to because it will replace X or Y hacked together thing we did in house. DHH might be a shitlord, and Rails is definitely bulky these days, but I think it’s avoided enshittification.

@semanticist DHH isn't Rails anymore fortunately. We need to shed his legacy but there's some decent people on Rails core there days.

@snarfmason There’s been some great people in Rails core for years, but DHH still has his hand on the tiller. TBH, I think it would take a fork with backing from a major company to really remove his influence, but he’s been suitably non-edgelord-y recently that no one needs to do that.

@semanticist true on all counts.
