Orban just illustrated why the #EU needs to reform its decision making before accepting any more countries.
With 27 members the odds of having at any point an opportunist in government in any of them, willing to demand ransom in key decisions are already high. It gets worse with every addition. And harder to change decision rules.
I welcome the decision to start EU accession talks with #Ukraine and #Moldova.
I hope the negotations include not just what the candidates need to cover before joining (it helps nobody to lower the bar) but also what the EU needs to cover in order to function. Otherwise we are setting ourselves up for more opportunists and rule breakers.
