I won't die on this hill, but I will risk stubbing my toe on it: both timezones and daylight saving time are the devil's work; UTC for the win.
Once we get rid of those, do we really need to divide days up by hours, minutes and seconds? We've got fractional days to meet all our needs.
That done... do 7-day weeks - or the concept of weeks at all - meet any actual needs? Day numbers for the win. We can vote on whether to start the year with day 0 or day 1, but the year starts on a solstice.
