I do not like the UX pattern where "close the main window" causes a different result from what happens when you "file -> exit".
(For Steam on Linux the difference is that "close the window" apparently means "keep running in the background anyway").

Fowl 24.12.0 is released: https://pypi.org/project/fowl/24.12.0/
Mostly this adds the ability to ask for (and allow) listening on and connecting to arbitrary (non-localhost) interfaces and addresses. It is still always opt-in, your peer cannot surprise you.

What the shit, found another random WiFi that thinks assigning a DNS name to "localhost" is good fun.
First a local university, now a local brewery.
Is this ... a strategy? Is there some #infosec article out there recommending this?

You can use CuvNer to visualize #python #coverage data in your PRs -- no pesky third-party service required.
GitHub Actions allows programmatic "summary" information to be produced, this one via "cuv report"
Also, since GHA will render ANSI colour sequences more-or-less properly, you can use "cuv diff -" to visualize the diff-coverage of this PR. All inline.

Here's what it looks like in my terminal with the QR code

Hey #magicWormhole and #UX fans, currently "wormhole send" does not display a QR code.
A nice contributor proposes a PR to add this. I'm waffling between "QR code is on by default, or not".

Is there a "privacy first" version of Strava? Like where I can share my activities with friends, but not with a gamification company? (i.e. end-to-end encrypted etc).

Hey @signalapp it would be amazing to have Pet-names for chats.
For example, I have two chats named "father" because I have two kids. I would like to give these chats different names than my kids do ("father" makes sense to them of course).
Pet-names are local-only names for things that do not leave the device.
