Hey, #biketooter, is there a way to lube my chain without using PFAS or switching to wax?

I biked 6,030 km in 2024, up from 4,042 km in 2023.

~81% of this was for utility: commuting, going to the store, visiting friends, etc., with the rest for recreation. This is up from ~55% last year.

Counting only utility riding, I spent ~15 cents/km, down from ~18 cents/km last year.

My car had triple the expenses but only about half the mileage, so I sold it in August!

After just ten months of service, my Cateye Velo 7 cyclecomputer fell off its mount--the longest any of my last four cyclecomputers have lasted. #biketooter, any recommendations?

I'm not interested in anything that connects to the internet. I just want distance, current speed, and time of day.

My entire household caught #covid for the first time this weekend. Feels especially unfair, given that I got vaccinated just the weekend before. We're also all in the habit of wearing masks in public.

A part of me had suspected I had already caught it, maybe been one of those asymptomatic people. Turns out, I am not one of those asymptomatic people.

The rain made it hard for me to get any good footage of #BaltimoreBikeParty last night, but the beach party theme saw a plethora of colorful shirts, floaties, inflatable sharks, and the return of the bike trailer with a live DJ.

Ever since I called 911 for a stranger ODing on #opiods a few weeks back, I've been reaching out to organizations on Maryland's list of free #narcan distributors.

Unfortunately, only one has responded, and only to point me back to the list.

Today I finally just bought some #naloxone at a nearby pharmacy. I can afford the $35, but I worry that barriers like this make naloxone inaccessible to those who can't.
