@gyptazy

Starting snac should be done as root and not as the user snac.

And a small hint on how to create the first user would be nice:

su - snac

snac adduser /home/snac/data username

Your post got me up and running in a couple of minutes :D

@gyptazy Thanks a lot for your write up on how to install snac2 on FreeBSD.

I found a couple of minor points, where someone might stumble a little bit.

The '-m' flag should be added when creating the 'snac' user to automatically set up a home directory: pw useradd snac -s /bin/sh -m

In the file '/usr/local/etc/rc.d/snac' the path to the snac data files must be noted '/home/snac/data' - it must be the same as in the interactive configuration.

A question to the #python people: Is there a good way to approach automated downstream testing of your code?

Let's say you are the maintainer of library "Lib_A" and you know, that "Important_Project_B" and "Important_Project_C" user your library a a dependency. How do you approach automated testing of "Important_Project_B" and "Important_Project_C" when changing your "Lib_A"?

Maybe @brianokken has an idea 😅
