[#]Arturia have updated their flagship Pigments software synth to version 6 (if you bought an earlier version, the update is free—if you don't already have Pigments, it's on sale right now for €99 which is half price).

The new version adds ANOTHER synthesis engine—the sixth—that they're calling "modal " which looks like it uses physical modelling. I'll be spending the rest of the morning playing with it, I suspect...

Mammoth session of rearranging cable feeds in the studio is complete, and I have even updated the labels on the mixer which tell me what sound is coming from where. I think I'm ready for #FAWM.

And just wait until you hear what my #ambient stuff sounds like now. I'm floored by what my effects chains (yes, plural) can do...

My #ambient effects setup has got to the point where I don't really need to be involved that much. First chain is a Red Panda Particle 2 into a Mooer Ocean Machine into an Eventide H90. Second effects send goes to a Chase Bliss Mood Mk2 and this is also fed into the first effects chain, so off it goes, slowly evolving. The results are astonishing.

Today's pre- #FAWM experiments will involve making #audio recordings with a pair of small-diaphragm condenser mics in ORTF configuration (which is not something I've tried before). Should be a fun #HomeRecording adventure!
