Edit: Tippfehler.

A note I made on a change I made on OpenStreetmap got resolved today by someone experienced with just minor edits.

That makes me happy today.

Danke, @datenanfragende

I very likely said this already last year, but I really do not like running at or below freezing temperature.

I do like starting the year on a 5K PB, though!

@jwildeboer Hello Jan. I just moved servers and previously used the cspam.bash script of yours.

It's been working great, but my use was slightly different, not using cscli myself. I have now changed this into a small fail2ban jail that you can find here https://codeberg.org/blindcoder/ShareTheBasics/src/branch/main/fail2ban/postfix-spam-systemd.conf

Thank you for the original script!

Ich mag unseren kleinen Edeka Laden wirklich, aber wenn die nicht bald aufhören, mir jedes mal eine scheiß Payback Karte aufschwatzen zu wollen, geh ich da nicht mehr hin.

TIL: In HomeAssistant you can click the title of an entity popup and it'll scale to the screen! No more squinting my eyes at tiny webcam popups!

Do you switch filament types regularly? Pla to petg and back? How do you deal with residue in the extruder? Do you have multiple hotends you switch between?

I just again fought with residual petg after switching to PLA which just got stuck due to the lower temperature and wonder what other people do about this issue.

This is important because I have technical laypeople using this infrastructure as well. If it were just me and my wife, we could sit down and update everything in 10 minutes.

I have other users spaced out over all of Germany with little options for in-person handholding.

Bit the bullet yesterday and setup a new Debian Bookworm VM to host all my stuff:

Websites are my blog, webmail, gitlab revproxy, and some others.

Now the big one: I need to migrate ownCloud to nextCloud (brr). Anyone done that and can tell me from their own experience:

Do the owncloud Android / iOS and Linux Desktop application function with nextCloud?

Do davx5 configurations keep working?

So my doorbell just went belly-up. The inside part that goes "ding dong" when someone presses the button outside.

Any suggestions for a thing that also integrates into HomeAssistant nicely? Zigbee/MQTT/custom integration okay, offline, no cloud-foo a must.

There's a German word for everything.

I just realized that the german word "verscheissern" (to make fun of or take advantage of someone) can be used as a nice word for "enshittification".

That fact now lives rent-free in my head.

Found random Ali-sourced RGB string with USB dongle.

Duck'd the app name + HomeAssistant.

Found HACS integration for it.

Needs Bluetooth. Too far from HA server.

Found Bluetooth Proxy for ESPHome.

Enabled BT Proxy on my ESP32-S3-Box-3 Voice Assistant.

HA autodiscovered the dongle and IT WORKS JUST FINE!

Fscking hell, I love Free Software and HA in particular!

Holy bananas, I did my second 10k run today.

33 km to achieve 500km this year. Will I make it? I'll certainly try!

After a lot of back and forth with Trisquel-Sugar, I dumped it in favor of Linux Mint with the Sugarizer DEB package.

Nota Bene: I DID get it running, and in German, too, but a broken installer and lack of WiFi connectivity just didn't cut it in the end.

Mint works out of the box on the same machine, with the Sugarizer package.

So, six people answered my poll about interest in starter packs. That's both good and bad, as I was afraid there was like a HUGE GINORMOUS interest in it, but also I was under the impression it's like the NEXT BIG THING for Mastodon.

Ah well, if anyone's interested, here's a PoC if you're into that:
