I've been told that CW #eyecontact is because it makes people on the #Autism #spectrum uncomfortable. As someone on the spectrum it is something i had to learn to deal with to exist around people at all. Being uncomfortable and being triggered by #PTSD are two very different things. You can work through discomfort and get stronger just like with exercise.
I can deal with so much more than in the past because I dealt with the discomfort, my life would be very lonely if i could not have overcome my discomfort. The more I do something overwhelming the less overwhelming it becomes in time as my brain familiarizes itself with all the complex nuances going on. Eye contact is a ton of social queues all happening at once and there are a lot of complex meanings behind it which is why it is overwhelming. Of course no one told me that eye contact by neurotypicals involves the eyes roaming from between the eyes, to the corners of the mouth in a triangle to make people feel at ease. To them its like breathing, so they had no way to realize I didn't know or understand. The eye contact I was taught I needed to have was actually translated in my brain to be in the stare down zone and I lost many dates that way trying to show respect. Practicing that made eye contact a lot easier.
I want to know if there are any studies linking ptsd triggering and eye contact. I really don't care if its about discomfort, that's called reality, as the Buddha said "reality is suffering" and practicing with small doses can make you anti-fragile, instead of emotionally fragile. If I'm actually causing PTSD triggers I want to know.

They checked their security camera and saw something slamming against their entranceway, producing a cloud of smoke and a crackle.
The pair reported what they found to the University of Alberta’s Meteorite Reporting System and the curator, Chris Herd, examined samples of the debris to confirm its interstellar origins.
Meteorites are bits of space rock that hit Earth after surviving a trip through its scorching atmosphere. About 43 tonnes (43,500kg) of similar debris strikes Earth every day, according to Nasa, but is much more likely to plunge into an ocean than on to someone’s front stoop.
The space rocks also streak the night sky as shooting stars during meteor showers that happen several times a year.
The footage from July is believed to be a first. While cameras have captured meteors streaking through the sky, it is rare to capture the sound of a complete meteorite strike on video.
The space rock, officially registered on Monday, was named Charlottetown after the city on Prince Edward Island in eastern Canada where it struck.
