This is a really neat project! I personally like a slide-out keyboard but I could probably redesign the case to do that. It'd be fun to have something similar to Offpunk on it, too, to keep up to date on Geminispace things or other blog-type posts.

I started reading The Ministry For The Future last night and man it's a bleak start. Especially after the last few summers we've all had.

It's still a good read and is supposed to be more hopeful overall. Unless I misinterpreted what people say about it.

Got my kid a new laptop for xmas (the inlaws pitched in to help) and ye gods windows is a frustrating OS to install. And then you gotta go in and check the settings and disable the spyware. I uninstalled Copilot, and then noticed that Edge has its own Copilot so disabled it. And then noticed the damn start menu has one, too! 🤬🤬🤬

I'm probably showing my age, or at least my lack of tiktok usage, but I really wish people wouldn't say things like "unalive" online. Just say the actual words. They're important. They're meaningful. My friend didn't "unalive" himself a few years ago. He killed himself. It was real. Fuck the algorithm. Don't hide from these things. Even though they hurt.

I mean, I do get it if you're trying to be seen on these platforms, and those subjects negatively affect your "engagement" numbers or whatever. I just hate how it's affecting the language offline. :(

Last night I was gifted a bike by one of my wife's coworkers. It's in pretty decent shape, but way too small for me. I plan on getting it running and trying to convince my son to try riding it. His anxiety has stopped him from biking, though. If he decides to not use it I'll donate it to a local bike charity thingy.

I dunno about anyone else, but the ads I get when listening to podcasts are almost always for other podcasts. Never for actual products. Which is fine, except 95% of them are for true crime and murder mystery podcasts and, like, no thank you. If I wanted that I'd watch the news.

I suppose it's because I typically download the episodes to put them on minidisc. But I still don't get it lol
