(fwiw we're not saying exactly like that, but like, "wait, gio doesn't have examples?" and getting no response. which tells us it probably doesn't, and we're having a really hard time figuring this stuff out.)

can anyone help us with gtk4/gio/etc?
the gtk ppl won't help us, because we keep telling them "we wouldn't be asking this if there were a section [e.g. Getting Started with Gio] in the docs about it, or examples". we guess they don't wanna know how to improve their docs.

trying to figure out how to use a #TPM to confirm to our web service visitors that we're running the open source version with no logging code instead of a secretly evil version with logging. anyone has any ideas?

mastodon's lack of user accountability is a mistake.
mods should be able to tell if you're actively bringing hate speech into the federated feed. even if you're immediately reporting it.

re- #introduction because we feel like making a new one
we are plural and genderqueer and a few other things. ("it" instead of "you", also.)
we like experimental, cursed, esoteric tech. stuff that terrifies most programmers.
we also like when other folks come together to do the above (tho we struggle to find others who are willing to do these things with us).
we talk a lot about struggling with our body. pain shapes us. we long for a day when we can say that about joy, it sounds nice.

y'know how you can have central heating with a hot water loop? what if you could have, like, a chilled water loop, with central cooling instead.

we've been noting down problems we notice with, well, this entire place. and we would like to ask y'all: how does this look so far? how accurate is this, how many things have we missed, etc?

we have openwrt running in a vm running in windows running in a vm
we have a tap interface and a bridge interface, well 2 of each if you consider both vms
we can't seem to ping the host nor the windows vm, not sure what's going on

qemu works, openwrt seems to work, the tap adapters seem to work... for the most part. we can't seem to get windows to configure the tap adapter for dhcp for some reason?
this would be so easy if only it just worked...

for an example of ltptr usage in a real project, take a look at https://crates.io/crates/hexchat-unsafe-plugin/2.4.0-pre1 (hexchat-unsafe-plugin, version 2.4.0-pre1, which doesn't show up on ltptr's dependents because it's a pre-release)

[#]Rust Crate https://docs.rs/ltptr is looking for maintainers
we are trying to move on from rust and we want to give away our crates. we believe in affirmative action so this is only for folks who are trans, and/or Black women.
we seek a maintainer who has a passion for deeply exploring the features the language offers. someone who knows or wants to know why you'd put lifetimes on raw pointers. talk to us!

what would an "resource fork native API" look like?
if you could do away with the regular filesystem and move everything over to resource forks (and resource forks stacked on top of resource forks) what would everything look like?
