If you are wondering why people want to mandate 100% working in the office then wonder no more! This line from the Guardian (http://theguardian.com/business/2025/jan/20/working-from-home-not-doing-proper-work-stuart-rose) about Stuart Rose's asinine comments on WFH explains everything:

A short biography of Rose on Asda’s website said: “Stuart appears to have no hobbies apart from work and has a dog called Bruce.”

They really are a bunch of boring toss pots who made work their life. Go get a hobby! Become passionate about something more than making money, loser!

More new tea! More pu'erh. This time it is Juice Journo.

Again, we have a horrible grassy second infusion but then things get tasty there after. At first it tastes sweet but then there is something warming which comes in. Hard to distinguish anything in particular. The finish is bitterness which plays with the tip of the tongue and then lingers around the bottom edges of the tongue. Body feel is giggly as you might hear in Thursday's FLUX.

Good stuff for work!

Enjoying some new tea. A raw pu'erh from Mei Leaf called Heaven Surveyor. It comes from Man Song.

At first, it tastes green. Very green. However, there is a significant mineral flavour. After a couple of infusions, this mineral becomes bitter. All throughout, you have sweet fruity bits which hit right. The mineral/bitterness really hits the mouth in a big way and it lingers. Body feels good and light.

Leaf is small but that might be due to having bought a sampler.

Totally in love with this Tiny Desk performance from the Magnetic Fields.

I saw it a couple of weeks ago and it keeps haunting the mind. Such a delightful nearly all acoustic take which has all the feels. What more would you expect?

In the top 5 of my favourite Tiny Desks along with Yusuf/Cat Stevens and Amanda Palmer and the Grand Theft Orchestra.

Damn, Terunofuji has retired! Poor guy has been suffering. He is a hell of a beast who deserved the Yokozuna title from determination alone. He is renown for his falling from Ozeki down through the ranks into the unsalaried while recovering from knee operations and then fighting his way back up and reaching the top. There are not many who manage this. He also went on to win 10 basho, a great achievement!

Thanks for the thrilling bouts and all the hard work!

Wow Tobizaru! Nice win against Terunofuji.

It is surprising how small Tobizaru looks compared to Terunofuji.

Takayasu managed to force a spin around out of Endo.

Ura managed to lose against Chiyoshoma by doing the splits at an inopportune moment.

Gonoyama forced Wakamotoharu to do an interesting flip. Null points for failing to stand up with arms in the air after though!

Poor Kotozakura has probably dashed all hopes of the yusho.

Horshoryu didn't take any nonsense from Tobizaru.

Takanosho gave a spirited defence against Terunofuji but lost. Teru seems far from genki.

Tobizaru proved why he is a favourite! What an upset against Onosato today. A push forward followed by stopping and then a cheeky pull down.

Horshoryu showed how keen he is to get a yusho. It was a case of getting hold of the belt and Kirishima struggling until going out. Good fight.

Takanosho seemed to just give up. A long bout against Kotozakura but a pants end.

Wakatakakage did a swift step to the side post tachiai to send Terunofuji to the clay. Damn!

Lots of interesting times ahead with Terunofuji returning to the ring, Kotozakura being on a Yokozuna run, Hoshoryu trying to be on a Yokozuna run and then a whole host of people trying to show they are back and ready to win.

Onosato is looking for double digit wins again. Wakatakakage is back as Komosubi and will be keen to show he should remain there. Wakamotoharu could be starting an Ozeki run. Then we have the return of Hakuoho to Makuuchi. Lots of opportunity for excitement!

Looking to watch the #sumo over the next 15 days? Yes, the Hatsu basho (January tournament) starts tomorrow.

You can watch individual Juryo and Makuuchi bouts legally and free on the NHK site, shortly after the bout has taken place! Link below and I think there are no adverts. Thanks to Andy at www.tachiai.org for pointing this out. Much better than the NHK work 30 minutes catch up which appears a day or so after the bouts.
