alright i'm just gonna give some context for day 1 and then i won't comment so much.
my guitar is broken. the neck is kind of warped. a whole bunch of the frets don't work and just plink out when you try and use them, but i play them anyway.
i'm practicing the guitar and when i come up with something interesting i'm gonna sit down and record it in one take, which means i'm gonna leave any mistakes in or anything where i play out of time, but i will probably have practice played it 5-6 times before i hit record.
i'm going to use 2 tracks, the first track will be whatever i practice played, and the second track i'm just gonna improv something over the top in one take. these things will probably end up sounding pretty samey because i am not very versatile.
i like drone music.
i'm going to use vst reverb, delay, etc if i want to, but i'm going to limit myself to effects that i have on my actual pedalboard. i just can't be bothered to plug the pedalboard into the pc to record.
that's it, i think.

and because the human animal is more “special” than other animals, it polices the language of how these kinds of atrocities can be described, especially by those same progressives who speak so fervently on the subject.
because to describe it as a “slave” is to diminish the experience of the humans who have experienced those same conditions.
instead of recognising that humans are animals too, and elevating the weight of the atrocity as it happens, even progressives will put animals down to preserve their special status.
because it diminishes the experience of the humans who have experienced the same conditions. the human is special. the line is drawn whereby animals can’t be seen as “women” (or “mothers” when their children are forcibly ripped away from them after birth). empathy ends after “human” because the human is not an animal. it is special.
because that word is reserved only to describe the human experience which is something different to what an animal can experience. the words are protected to delegitimise the experience of animals. to protect humans as something more than animal. to separate humans from animals and to push the animals down so that these horrors can continue without thought.

progressives will speak fiercely on the subjects of abolition of slavery or abolition of prisons, on self determination, abuse and violence against women, torture and brutality in systems of authoritarian control, etc.

was talking about music to a family member who has seemed more and more radicalised to the right recently. i asked if they liked the album “the queen is dead” by the smiths and they got really angry and said “as a royalist i find that kind of thing offensive.” they then used that as a springboard to talk about overhearing a “pakistani” person saying they were going to egg the king, and how it’s not right for foreigners to come to this country and disrespect our way of life. they switched multiple times between calling the person “pakistani” and “indian” without actually knowing anything about the person. they finally finished off their rant by switching to talking about how the world is too woke these days and “everyone is so offended if you use the wrong pronouns” and “why is everybody so offended these days?”
i asked if they’d ever actually met a real human being in their entire life who corrected their pronouns and they genuinely stopped and thought about it and said no. i laughed and pointed out that in the last 5 minutes of talking they had been offended about an album title, an overheard joke someone else made, and a made up person that they invented in their head. that the only offended person was them and that they were the very person they were describing who gets offended about everything these days.
the conversation ended there idk why.

everyone should have empathy for others, but what i actually mean is everyone should have empathy for me while i continue to exploit those who i don’t care for because they look different to me and speak a different language, therefore have no value and deserve no consideration.

how do people moralise about consent/violence while killing animals without a thought?
if consent is in your vocabulary, it seems weird not to extend that to other living autonomous persons?

whatever value you exploit from the corpse is stolen by violence. a corpse doesn’t give a fuck if you’re thankful. you kill, you exploit, you leave a trail of dead in your wake.

“i use every part of the animal” is a disturbingly utilitarian take on killing another being. to me it’s weird to try and justify taking the life of another person so long as you can find self-serving value in exploiting their death. it’s capitalist thinking. just like the oil tycoons who will say they used every drop of oil they siphoned as the earth crumbles to dust, or the ikea ceos who will say they used every tree in their affordable home decor range while the rainforests become wasteland.
