Yes, but fireworks are replaced by laser lightshows. As the MC also tells fortunes (with coins and the book of changes) she is kept quite busy the days before the new year begins.

The MC, one of the pilots, brings the oldest of her friends, the most trusted in the crew; the engineer that refuses to be promoted.

With the bowls of sallad and soup from the onboard gardens and bioreactors they share dried wild meat¹ cut to thin chips. They drink hot blackcurrant cordial, laced with a bit of rum.

The garden of rocks is quiet and filled with the scent of larch tree blossoms.
