[#]intellij trick: you can copy the contents of a file from one branch (or anywhere, really) and open the same file in the editor in another branch, then right-click in the editor and choose “compare with clipboard” to get a diff view.

This way you can manually “cherry-pick” stuff, for instance if git can’t figure out file renames or you got changes from outside of git.

My hot take on AI is that local inferencing is useful (for text manipulation) and use less energy than the casual gaming I do. Training is expensive but the price is dropping very quickly, and is amortised across users. The problems are the hype that power ridiculous power & water spend despite training efficiency gains, and the unethical sourcing of training material.
