Ben.. On est en 2025 et la majorité des clients Android est encore coincée en version 0 3.0 de XEP-0384 (#OMEMO Encryption), à part Kaidan (KDE) et aTalk (qui est moche comme un poux) qui sont en 0.8.3. Ça va faire trois ans...

Comme tous ou presque sont des forks de #Conversations, cela ne risque pas d'évoluer tant que ce dernier ne monte pas en version.

On part du principe que la clé du fichier est générée aléatoirement à chaque fois.

À l'inverse de #PGP, #age_encryption privilégie dans son design des clés de chiffrement de court terme ou par projet au détriment des clés de long terme.

Et tant pis pour l'aspect non-deniability. Ce que l'on recherche ici c'est un chiffrement moderne et solide, pas être capable de prouver dans 10 ans que c'était bien une clé à soi.

Pour les béotiens comme moi, une explication claire en bon français - heu, plain english plutôt - de la façon dont #age_encryption effectue le chiffrement d'un payload. Et pourquoi c'est OK d'utiliser un nonce de 128-bit pour calculer la payload key[1].

Bonus: pour ceux qui en doutent encore, en quoi c'est bien plus moderne que #PGP.

I can’t help thinking that the bike industry is very focused on upselling to existing consumers. Which worked, until it didn’t. How do you explain to shareholders that you are pouring money into trail networks that might show a return in five to ten years’ time?

Surely putting all that creative genius into figuring out how to make a €1,500 bike ride like a €5,000 bike does today would help the sport grow faster?

Je vais me prendre la Flak des amateurs de PGP mais nope, nada, fini. J’ai dit non. J'utilise PGP depuis longtemps et c'est compliqué, à moitié pété par la maladresse des usagers, OpenPGP et GnuPG se chiffonnent et surtout, plus personne ne s'en sert. Donc...
