Dear multilingual humans,
I have just started an intense, immersive, German language class (in-person). I’d like to supplement this with an app that i can use on my tablet. I know there are many popular options. I did Duolingo for a while, even paid, but they made so many changes to the UI and courses, that I refuse to go further in supporting it.
My current choices are: Babbel+ or Rosetta Stone.
Does anyone have a preference? I want casual supplemental learning to get to a B1 level. Thx!

These folks moved to Spain during the Great Millennial Spain/Portugal Digital Nomad Visa Migration of the 2020s and turns out are disgusted with the cuisine, lack of CVS, siesta and no air conditioning. I don't know where to find tour dates of bands I like when they come to Europe after giving up Instagram. Many bands I've forgotten about get back together and tour. I have no way of knowing. Suggestions for good show calendars? Bay Area in California has "The List" which I'd love to find an equivalent of for the EU.

Please help me locate this ufo info: many years ago, like late 90s, someone made a site and posted detailed photos they took of a couple very strange objects while hiking in the northern california trails. He said they hovered quietly. Didn’t look like they would fit any kind of being. One looked like a giant protractor. The page also showed that scientists in california had blueprints for it and that it had what looked like alien writing on the parts they had. Was really weird. HALP?!

There’s a guy in LA named Glasgow Phillips. Credits include stuff for Comedy Central and some stuff with South Park. He was part of the South Park crew we partied HARD with from 1996-97. Seemed like a nice guy. Anyway, he wrote a book called “The Royal Nonesuch” and part of that chronicles those crazy times. Italians super struggle getting into airplanes. Like, an unnatural confusion sweeps through the cabin. This is a direct result of the fact that they don't know how to line up for things in Italy. It's not taught in pre-school, like other developed/modern societies do. Hence, they do this pushing and shoving and the "🤌🏼excusa! 🤷♂️" bullshit and the entire boarding process comes to a halt.

Germany has some of the more stupidly restrictive knife laws i’ve seen. Moreso than NY, which says a lot. The Spyderco Tenacious i have is considered illegal because the thumbhole is considered assisted opening. Even the pictured Victorinox Rescue Tool is considered illegal for the thumbhole. Dumb. Tracks for Germany, however.
