Was back home in New Jersey for a bit, and stopped at my local FLGS. Picked up the Raven RPG.
Haven't read any reviews, but it looks interesting.

A review of Spice World (not the movie)
A RPG with Traveller character creation, and PBTA moves, set in the Dune universe.

I had a deeply satisfying moment in my ongoing #Traveller campaign. There are a number of possible plot hooks the players could've chosen. They chose one that led them to a little red-zoned world called N-68956.
Most of the worlds in my game are of my own design. This one is from Chaosium's Thieves' World, the 1981 boxed fantasy setting that inexplicably had stats for Traveller (among other games).
I've waited to run this setting with Traveller for 40 goddamn years.

I've been playing around with making a magnetic dungeon board for an upcoming campaign.
It'll let me make a bunch of different dungeon rooms with a little bit of paper scenery.
More details here:

Whenever I use a plot idea from a movie in a #TTRPG session, I'm always a little paranoid they'll recognize the plot while it's happening.
As it turns out, no one in my #Traveller campaign has seen "The Sting"

Building a Galaxy 7 – Olminda – The Casino Planet

Created a giant space casino for my Traveller campaign. Basically Vegas in Space.

Just saw Robert Eggers' Nosferatu.
It's good. Not a thing wrong with it.
It seemed, however, to have a bit less impact on me because of the familiar subject matter.
The Witch and the Northman hit a little harder because I hadn't seen anything like them before.
If you've seen any Hammer film, all of Nosferatu's beats will be familiar to you. It's stylish, but not particularly novel.

Thinking about a new game for 2025 in my local game group.
I've always wanted to try running a West Marches style-campaign
I'm thinking of keeping it simple - Basic Fantasy OSR rules in a standard D&D environment. Nothing exotic - the usual D&D monsters in a hex/dungeon crawl environment.
I'm hoping to use this as an on-ramp game for new players.
I'll also use miniatures. Cheap paper minis, but minis all the same.

Finally finished up designing my version of the Foreven sector for my #Traveller campaign.
I generated the sector booklet using TravellerMap, and I'll hand it out to my players the next session.

I've been making my own Foreven sector maps for an ongoing Traveller campaign. To make it easier, I've made a spreadsheet that will help create the sector data text files for use with the Traveller Map Booklet Maker and Poster Maker

I mostly finished creating all of the worlds in the Foreven sector for my ongoing #Traveller campaign.
Most of them were randomly generated, a few were designed, and a handful were taken directly from various Traveller/Cepheus books. I used the TravellerMap site to generate my own map and booklet.
I'm going to tidy it up a bit, and make a final version for my players. Will most likely post it on my blog as well.

Back on Black Friday, Modiphius had a big sale on their Dune books.
I bought most of them, and they recently arrived.
They're lovely, but now I'm realizing - when the hell I am going to find time to read, let alone play any of these?

On the day the UnitedHealthcare shooting happened, I publicly predicted the shooter would be some guy from Maryland named after a Nintendo character.
I was widely mocked for my brave stance.

Something's been bothering me about all of these prestige streaming TV shows with plots based around endless intrigue & scheming (looking at you, Dune)
I finally remembered why. They all remind me of this old SCTV sketch:

In the upcoming year, I'm planning on running some #OSR stuff, so I picked up a new copy of Basic Fantasy, my favorite flavor of OSR retroclone.
I already had a copy, but I couldn't resist the snazzy new cover (still cheap - US $16.95 hardcover)

I've been going through my Wizard's Cabinet at the Bundle of Holding site, which lists all of the purchases I've made since 2015. For me, It's a pretty big list.
It suddenly occurred to me - it might be an interesting idea to actually get around to reading, or even possibly playing, some of these.

I just saw that the Trancers RPG I posted about earlier was on sale on Amazon for 5 bucks, so I've ordered it.
I think there's a good chance I'm going to be the Trancers RPG guy. I'll blog about the game, write some supplements and adventures. Start Reddit & Facebook groups dedicated to the game.
I'll learn to sculpt, so I can make my own Trancers RPG miniatures. Perhaps try to run a Trancers RPG convention. I'll author a series of Trancers fiction novels.
Essentially, for the next decade or so, I'll build my life entirely around the Trancers RPG - an obscure game based on a forgotten straight-to-video B-movie franchise.
Alternately, I may just flip through the book once, and put it on my RPG shelf, never to be opened again.
Could go either way at this point.
