There were two usages of eval in the #JavaScript code at work. I replaced them by safe code and the result of the Vite (@vite) compilation went down by 161 KB (13 KB gzipped). 🤯

Today I deactivated my Twitter account. I wanted immediate destruction, but no you can’t: you can deactivate, then it seems it’s destroyed after 30 days of non-activity.

Well, if it’s like Discord-destroyed, it won’t be destroyed. But it’s not like I expected this to be done properly.

I did not warn any of my subscribers since it’s been a while it’s a zombie account, and I did all the communication roughly 2 years ago.

Good riddance!

@sitnik_en Hi! I see you'll do a talk at FOSDEM this year (https://fosdem.org/2025/schedule/event/fosdem-2025-4233-privacy-first-architecture-alternatives-to-gdpr-popup-and-local-first/). That's cool, I'm looking forward to it!

Well, here you go: https://www.nintendo.com/successor/en-us/index.html #NintendoSwitch2

I would have loved them to name it Super Switch instead of Switch 2.

Maybe if there’s a “Pro” version one day, they’ll name it Super Switch 2. 🤞

I don't know anything about native apps development for #iOS and #Android, but apparently https://appt.org is a good resource to build #accessible apps.

I think it would be a good strategical move (I mean: with a positive “market reaction” :prof: ) for #Nintendo to announce the Super Switch this week, because there’s no way to predict which moment might still be suitable once Trump enters the White House instead of entering jail. :nard:

Guillotine, quand ?

It'll be healthier for her too since I progress faster then she does on coding tasks because I only code and don't review, while she does on top of attending meetings and being in contact with other people.

My only dev colleague started to put emojis reaction (thumbs up) to my pull request comments. I like this.

Before November there was no code review system in place, and no GUI over hit (now there's GitLab), so she's new to code review.

Next step is to get her opening PRs that I'll review instead of the current status being one-way (I open PR, she doesn't). :nerd:

I went from light mode to dark mode on the Windows 10 laptop from work.

Most apps followed the change of theme.

YouTube website did not despite set to auto, because I guess it's what happens when a tab is sleeping and either the media query listener do not wake up, or maybe do exist at all…

Using the toggle manually worked. Handling color scheme the right way on the web is possible since 2018 on Chrome. I guess the YouTube team focuses on JS perf (it's a fast website!) but not on #CSS.

Alternatively, as soon as I have time at work (worst case scenario, will happen during Summer), I might try to run #PHP in the browser using #WebAssembly (https://github.com/seanmorris/php-wasm).

Won't be able to call remote APIs but I'll be able to at least do some stuff faster (at least form validation). 🤞

I'm basically never ill, but I started to feel sick two days ago, just before being on holiday for 12 days :nard: (putting aside 1 day of work on January 2).

I'm okay-ish and can relax (screen time and books), so no big deal. I just hope it won't get worse.

Anyway, considering the state of the world, I'm relatively grateful I went through this year. Even the cat is still alive (she turned 20 a couple of weeks ago!).

I'm looking for a #PHP library for form validation. Any good one to recommend?

The goal is to use the same across multiple projects supported by different PHP frameworks.

For website internationalization, Google Search Central recommends to not mess with languages and countries you can't properly support (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-6NmhCbEaI&t=131).

Meanwhile Google web.dev website still forces AI translation by default. :nard:

Shower was leaking from the mixer tap. Replacing the gasket did not work, the issue was inside the gasket itself, so I replaced it successfully: no more leaks!

First time I do this. Thanks Mario and Luigi for all the lessons! :n8rd:

Thanks also this big book about repairing home stuff that I bought a decade ago. Really worth it! 📖

2 years ago someone started to stick old photographies at random places of #Brussels #subway: https://www.reddit.com/r/brussels/comments/11221so/why_are_these_old_photos_in_brussels_metro/

I saw the first one a couple of months ago, and then it's nice to see it's still here today at the exact same place of the wagon (is it the right word?) itself.

If like me you have to write #PHP code but can't run it on your machine because company decision :nard:, an online PHP shell might be useful to tinker small stuff. I found this one: https://3v4l.org
