A walk down the Ashworth Valley from Norden - somewhere different for us. Woods, waterfalls and the ruins of old cotton mills. Quietly enchanting.

Seven 'migration' #papercuts my partner @marti_an_arts made for Building Bridges, Pendle are now up in the windows of Nelson Town Hall. Tissue-papered by local schoolchildren, they are particularly effective at dusk when back-lit by the office lights.

Hamburg Root Parsley was really worth growing. The green "tops" gave us parsley, while the roots provide a tasty and flavoursome vegetable. Will grow again next year. #allotment

Home from the #allotment with beans and a quantity of #cardoons (just a couple of stalks pictured). Our first time growing these. While they have looked nice ornamentally, what are winning ways of serving these? With pasta or with meat? Or fried I've heard?

We had a lot of fun at Góbéfest in Manchester, which celebrates the music and culture of the Carpathians and beyond. We watched some groups, had some lunch, had a go at the zither and balalaika and joined in with the Hungarian and Bulgarian dancing (which joyfully overspilt out into the rain).

Three things that have come on in leaps and bounds at the #allotment while we were on holiday. Strawberry Sticks (Chenopodium Capitatum), Hamburg Parsley (the root is also edible when we come to harvest it) and the Echinops (needed tying upright).

My partner made a #dragon #puppet for an inaugural community event today. Early feedback is everybody had a great time and wants to hold it again next year.
