I finally feel free! For the past 6 or so years, I've been removing myself from toxic social media & shopping outlets such as #Google #microsft #Meta #X #Amazon the list goes on. Now using #Mastodon #pixelfed #Signal and shopping locally and using #ethical online shops. There is always room for improvement so if anyone has any other ideas on how to avoid #corporategreed #fascists and other hateful outlets, I'm listening, ❤️😊

So, I went in for a wellness exam at my GP (in the UK) and had the awkward conversation with a nurse that I don't have a cervix but would probably need to have my prostate checked as part of the process. The best part was the hilarious discussion we had afterwards about how "intrusive" both exams are! These are actually my "good" days, ya know, when I pass and all that. What a giggle we had! 😊

Just for fun, I thought I would give you perspective on my music choices of 1994 for no particular reason. I distinctly remember 3 cassettes I bought: #GreenDay ; Dookie, #slayer ; Divine Intervention, and #danzig ; 4. All amazing albums of which I wore those cassettes down to nothing and had to get CD versions and eventually as I now have them, in digital form.

Trying to analyse music and activism as a concept, especially death metal/rap/hip-hop. Looking at certain bands out there, I see some great activists out there that may not seem like such activists. #gravediggaz , #MiseryIndex , #suffocation are among some interesting cases. I'd love to hear about other less advertised activist bands out there and have some discussions and share our thoughts for the #Fediverse. This, to me, is to get the word out there through music that already exists! ✊

So, the question is, in #icewm can I port each workspace to work independently to run each package I need to see? I've extensively read all the man pages for #icewm (I do use arch btw! 😅) but only find the typical #xrandr response. Without going thru the painstaking experimental road of which I've not enough time in this instance. For any #icewm experts out there, is it possible? Or should I just return to #i3? I love them both but found #icewm to be a tad more suitable for me.

Question for my #linux #i3 and #icewm users. 1st an intro to my question: I've been using #icewm on my #archlinux install for very long time. It's on a laptop but circumstances dictate I need to connect additional monitors that need to work independent from each. Meaning, I will need one to run videos while another is running script and another will be my main workspace. I need to see each one at all times. I used #i3 in the past and have a config but I want to stay with #icewm

I saw a sponsored ad in #Instagram that said something in the lines of, "if you still think investing in real estate, stocks and crypto is the right way to save/make money, you are wrong....." I think there was a lot more that was supposed to be said in this ad but at that point, I simply agreed with that statement, stopped watching it and moved on to watching cat videos. ❤️😊

I've been thinking hard on this;

I'm extremely extroverted, love the outdoors, cities, festivals, etc.

I'm a trans woman and I don't hide it at all. I experience gender dysphoria and have run-ins with transphobes and #terfs quite often, especially the former.

I'm exhausted by the amount of extra work and stress I have to deal with just to have a day free from bigots and misogynists who decide hate speech is more important than my welfare...

Mey Rude briefly discussed how bigots and #terfs are becoming a rare breed.

I sort of agree in the sense that most TERFs and bigots these days have nothing but horrendous personal histories to back their pro-fascist #transphobia.

What bothers me, not about this article, is the fact that these TERFs, bigots and misogynists are becoming desperate in their decline.

I use this next term loosely: we've seriously gotta kick them while they're down! Stop #Bigotry

Well, time for some Linux housekeeping. My Arch install needs a hard reboot. Been messing around with it so much over the past few years that it's just knackered. I've got a HP Zbook G3. Just downloaded the latest and greatest ISO. Saving all my important configs, etc. Got a nice bottle of red and some great music. It should be a fun couple of hours installing my favourite distro; can't wait! #geeks

Well, for the millionth time, I've been completely misgendered. This time, in events that I completely didn't expect but wasn't surprised of course. After having a lovely conversation with a nice group of people, one of them decided to do the, 'what celebrity do you look like' and SURPRISE, I get marked with a male celebrity. I mean, WTF????
