🥳 I will be talking about Podcasting tomorrow from 15h50 to 16h05 at @fosdem (room h2215):
Celebrating Open Standards:
How Podcasting 2.0 Shaped the Future of Podcasting
Two years ago at FOSDEM, I gave a talk titled “How Podcasting 2.0 Will Save the Open Internet”.
I’ll be honest—it was partly a bluff.
But it turns out I was right.
Today, we are here to celebrate the victory of open standards in podcasting.

In 2020, Podcasting 2.0 introduced the transcript tag after Apple had declined any changes for 15 years.
However, in 2024, Apple finally adopted the Podcasting 2.0 transcript tag for Apple Podcasts.
Beyond being a commendable and fair move by Apple, this marks a significant victory for open ecosystems, for podcasting as a whole, and for the Podcasting 2.0 initiative.
It is our duty to celebrate this achievement, and it is my honor to do so at FOSDEM 2025.

I'm not sure if hell exists, but if it does, LinkedIn is definitely the social network everyone there is using.
