It's been REALLY cold in England.

So much so, we actually got a decent amount of snow. However, we knew that temperatures would be back above freezing soon, so planned a hike around Castlerigg near Keswick to capture as much of the snowy Lake District as possible. 👍

Been a while, guys.

A belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from me!

November and December in the Northwest of England have been rubbish, weather wise. Near-constant murk and drizzle, punctuated by the occasional storm.

But for once, I found a forecast for a clear day and rearranged my work shifts accordingly.

Let's get back to Scotland, shall we?

This was a day spent once again exploring the picturesque and atmospheric ruins of Kilchurn Castle. Later, we explored Taynuilt village and its incredible monument. 👍

A little break from my recent Scotland photography run.

With the recent trend of murky, overcast and windless conditions here, we enjoyed a stroll around the Ingleborough Estate Nature Trail in Clapham, to capture the last of this year's autumn colours. 👍

Time for something a little more historical.

These photos were from a day walking around Taynuilt, the shores of Loch Etive, and exploring the ruins of Bonawe Iron Furnace.

Additionally, we also paid a quick visit to Glen Orchy and its beautiful waterfalls.

Time for somewhere new.

Two separate areas: Benderloch beach, with its golden sand and craggy ends, and Sutherland's Grove, a beautiful glen forest with a dramatic mind-bending gorge in the middle.

If you're vaguely near Glencoe, it's nigh impossible to resist the pull of Glencoe.

But, on this occasion, we made sure to explore other aspects near Glencoe we'd previously glossed over, such as Rannoch Moor's lochs and upper Glencoe. 👍

We're back from a week in the place on earth: the Scottish Highlands.

Something a little different: Welcome to St. Conan's Kirk!

An unusual building in that its architect blended multiple historical church styles into one building.

All shot on my Google Pixel 9 Pro XL.

Welcome to the Spanish Gallery and Auckland Palace.

These two areas we missed last year when we visited Bishop Auckland, but we were so glad to check them out this time.

Just a small post, my last few images from our Central/West Wales break. Welcome to Cenarth Falls, on the boundary of Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire. 👍

Sometimes you've just gotta be a bit of a tourist.

So on one day we visited New Quay, taking in the sights and sounds, and enjoyed a beautiful boat trip around New Quay Head, where we saw DOLPHINS. 😍

Llangrannog, its cliffs, and the peninsula of Ynys Lochtyn offered some of the most otherworldly and dramatic coastal scenery I've ever witnessed.

Who knew the Ceredigion area of mid/west Wales offered all this?

Welcome to Ceibwr Bay and the famous Pwll y Wrach, or the "Witches Cauldron".

Part of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, the geology around here is unbelievable. Ceibwr displays deeply incised cliffs, sea caves, and folded formations. At Pwll y Wrach, a collapsed cave near the sea. 👍

We're back from West Wales!

We had a lovely week's break, and where best to see out the last of this year's summer?

Welcome to Aberport and Tresaith, along the Ceredigion Coast Path. A moody day made from dramatic images. 👍

Time for a longer hike whilst the weather's nice enough.

We plotted out a 10km hike in Ribblesdale, around the villages of Stainforth and Langcliffe. Along the way, you have to stop at Catrigg Force, always an epic place regardless of water levels.

Welp, four years on from the COVID-19 pandemic, I finally got COVID. 😷

Thankfully, I recovered relatively unscathed.

After a week of weathering the disease, Lisabet and I opted for a gentler hike in the Yorkshire Dales to find a waterfall we'd never visited before.

It was all much needed.

The rain has returned. Forecasts indicate, though, things should be perking up in the middle of July.

Until then we took a nice circular hike around Crook 'o Lune, a relatively new photography location for us. Nature, agriculture, architecture, and history, all in one. 👍

We're still not quite ready for a more strenuous hike, so opted for a long but steady waltz around beautiful Kirkby Lonsdale.

Which is impossibly pretty in the summer. 🤩

Time for somewhere new.

This is Conistone Dib and Conistone Pie in Upper Wharfedale of the Yorkshire Dales! A glorious summer's afternoon and evening, chasing the light and documenting the incredible geology.

It's summer! Know what means? Wildflower meadows.

We decided on a fairly local favourite: Sedbergh and its fields of flowers beneath the Howgills.

My oh my, they were chock full!
