They were going to just replace the heating elements in the hot water heater and clean it up but 3/4 of the way into doing that they realized there was a problem which required them to put a whole new unit in. This makes me feel much better anyway.

My hot water heater started on fire tonight. So that was fun.

I'm loving this British LONG LOST FAMILY show. It's about people who gave their children up for adoption looking to find them, and vice-versa... the kids looking for their birth parents.

Every episode usually has two stories, and they always end in good news (as I see it), and I need good news, and I will keep needing good news the closer we get to the 20th.

I asked ChatGPT if it prefers Kirk or Picard, and it chose Picard.

I haven't posted anything about build projects in a VERY long time. Mostly because I don't have the funds to do it, but I do have one project that's largely finished, and only needs to be assembled.

I had to order the rack box, which I did, now I just need to do some assembly. First I needed to get a test panel for the front because I've added an extra pot and other features to this one, and I want to make sure everything is going to fit. So a friend cut me the test panel.

If and when my Spenco Polysorb insoles wear out, I'll try something similar from Sorbothane.

In Breaking Bad, the scene where the twins are in Walter's bedroom waiting for him to get out of the shower, they show a closeup of the chrome covered axe, and the edge doesn't look sharp at all.

I mean if you want to make it believable, at least give them a sharp axe for THAT scene.

Can't wait for my Spenco Polysorb insoles to arrive. I'm on my feet all day at work, and these will be super comfy.

There is no difference between winter driving and summer driving, except for one:

The coefficient of friction.

Every behaviour your car exhibits in the snow (fish-tailing, under-steering, etc...) will happen on dry roads if your car has sufficient horsepower, and you're going fast enough.

I saw an ad for Evernote recently. I used to use Evernote when I was podcasting. If I had an idea for a show topic, I'd send a tweet or an email to a specific address, and it would add it to the other notes I had there. I liked it.

Then it went away, so when I saw the ad I was excited, but naturally, after going through the on-boarding process, which only required changing my password since I used to have an acct with them, they hit me with the pricing. Of course.

I don't love it that much.

I've been seeing ads for "Patriot Software" lately. Apparently it's some sort of business accounting package. I'm suspicious of anyone using the word "patriot" these days, because typically they're the OPPOSITE of was patriotism implies to me.

Today I saw another ad for them and the banner ad in the advert was "Capitalism cures poverty." I know that's not true.

Anyway, does anyone know anything about them? Is it a company filled with RWNJ's?

I miss when heavy metal had melody, and great singers like Dio and Klaus Meine.

Now metal is a bunch of people with 8 string guitars beating on the lower strings as the drummer plays nothing but double bass notes, as the singer screams at you.

It's factory noise.

I know this is going to sound obvious, especially for someone like me who worked in a shoe store at one time in their life, but I can't believe how much more supportive and comfortable my new Merrell's are compared to my 6-month-old pair.

My old pair were hurting my feet so badly I literally couldn't wear them anymore. What I've learned is that with this job and the amount of time I'm on my feet, my shoes will only last 4 months instead of 6.

I also treated myself to some Polysorb insoles.
