Reminder that love bombing is only problematic when paired with abuse. "Love bombing" someone just to be kind without a cycle of abuse is totally fine and normal.

For the record, this does not necessarily mean I'll never visit fedi again, but rather that my main platform will be AniList and Kitsu. I also appreciate the people I did meet here. After all, I met my girlfriend on fedi and I love her a lot. But I'm tired of the meta cycle and the lack of interactions. I feel like I don't belong in this community, so it's best to go back to my old ones.

I'm thinking it might be time for me to leave fedi again. I'm getting tired of meta upon meta upon meta. Again and again. And so often it feels like petty infighting and major defederations over what is essentially minor disagreements or personal vendettas between admins.
It's tiring. And keeping up with all these metas is complicated because nobody shares the full story and it keeps developing from every direction. One person says something here and another there and some in private and this all contributes. And then I'm kinda expected to be up to date on all of this and if I get too chummy with someone on one side, someone on the other might block me or whatever.
And if this was all there was to it, idk, I would've probably stayed, but I come from Kitsu (not the fedi one that uses the same name, which sounds like a trademark violation to me but whatever) and AniList. On these two platforms I had a bunch of fun conversations with people about stuff I love. But if I post anything here that isn't either a shitpost or an overly serious "look how intellectual I am" post, it just does not get any interactions beyond my girlfriend and maybe one or two more people clicking like.
I miss talking to people. I'm bored of shouting into the void. I think it's time for me to replace the spot on my phone where I put the fedi app and replace it with a shortcut to AniList. Maybe I'll post a bit on Kitsu as well. Rekindle some friendships perhaps.

Sucks that I've run out of new Sonic games to play (that I'm able to play on my computer). I technically still have Sonic Colours, but it just won't boot for me on Linux/Proton. It just black screens me sadly. I want to play it with a cigher framerate, so the Wii version is out of the question.
Idk, I could see if I can get Sonic Unleashed and '06 working through emulation. But if I can't get them to run at >= 60fps, idk if I really want to.
Got really hooked on Sonic lately xD

This was a pretty good video for the most part. However, I take one major issue with it. It feels like he still believes that Anita Sarkeesian was unreasonable and seeking offense.
The thing is, just because Anita focused on analysing media from a feminist perspective does not mean she was looking for stuff to get offended by. In reality, she made it very clear she was not with the disclaimer at the start of every video.
Her goal was not to tell you to stop liking media because it's sexist. Her goal was to highlight feminist concepts in practice by showing how these games were made in a sexist society and ended up the way they did. Then to highlight ways in which this could've been prevented.
She was not a reactionary. She was not looking to be offended. She was aiming to educate about feminism through a medium that many people could relate to.

It feels really bad that I had to prioritise myself when the kittens still needed observation, but I was so sleep deprived, I slept for 15 hours total (split in two sessions). Luckily they both seem fine. And their vet said I didn't have to do anything special, so idk, I guess it was fine? I at least put them in a small room like online guides said. That way they couldn't run around as much.
Anyway, I'm so happy to have my kittens back and that they can be in the same room again

Also, I was half-right half-wrong about this. Ponyo wanted snuggles a bit but also wanted to play. Mai didn't even want to get close to me. She got back to herself a couple hours later tho and wanted some snuggles, but ran away every time she felt pain. It is what it is. Hopefully they'll feel better today

Aside from ChatControl, the new bottle caps is the worst thing that has ever come out of the EU. Who tf asked for a juice box that needs to be shaken but doesn't properly shut because of the new caps?!
I fucking hate these so much If you want to make an actual difference, encourage recycling these bottles in the same way that Nordic/Scandinavian countries do with the pant system.

The only reason I'm not giving Sonic 4 Episode 1 the lowest score is because it was short and the beginning was okay at least. If that game had been any longer or had the same life system as the older games without a level selector, I'd have given up on it and given it the lowest score. Such a bad game.
