Intrigued and disoriented by the Ottawa West Nepean map on Elections Ontario’s website:

• the map border and titles are portrait orientation

• the town and area names are landscape orientation

• North is in the bottom left

I’m not used to opening a map and seeing Gatineau below Ottawa 😅

My battery operated snow blower has needed some repair (battery door, which I also airbrushed pearlescent blue for no reason) but it still kicks ass four years later and I love not having a single petrol or diesel engine in my life.

To be fair, I hadn’t given much thought to them being steam trains when the station was moved. Dublin managed to keep its two downtown stations through this era though. Heuston isn’t too near housing but Connolly was (and the tracks leading up, of course)

This National Film Board short about Ottawa in the 1940s starts playing the villain-coded music at the 4 minute mark when the trains are mentioned. Luckily the tracks were ripped up for refreshing and clean expressways for cars 😅

Ten years ago today I was nostalgic and lonely on the Internet and I joined @tildetown and it changed my life substantially for the better. As I continue to back fill my IPv6 knowledge and set it up at home (via HE.net ❤️) I have just learned that my Apple TV is handing out IPs from a ULA and devices on my network prefer those (unroutable) IPs over my actual public /64.

I'll figure it out or whatever 💪 -- but when I searched for this problem in the Apple forums it's closed threads from people with Apple Forums Medal of Honor status telling people this isn't actually happening, or copy and pasting from Wikipedia. Fun!
