Turns out upgrading to zsh 5.9-5 on #ArchLinuxARM breaks command substitution. That's the first time I seen something like that happened.

I just realized that booting with the display in U-Boot sometimes breaks the display under Linux.

There was no error in dmesg, the pixels just fades into nothing.
