Anyone else’s #Mac stop offering applications (some of them but not all) as Spotlight results, post-Sequoia? Kinda hampers the ability to use it as a launcher…

I offer you new rock/roll #music from my pretend band: “Atoms” https://songwhip.com/joeytwolegs/atoms and “Bug in the Brain” https://songwhip.com/joeytwolegs/bug-in-the-brain You might even find some others if you dig around.

I remembered I had this Mophie power bank that has an AC outlet. So, why not, I tried using it to power a MiSTer FPGA running the Amiga core, keyboard, mouse, and a portable monitor, and it works. I wonder how long it will run for.
Now how could a person cram all this into some kind of enclosure to make the #Amiga laptop of your dreams/nightmares?

[#]Godot might be my overall favorite programming environment at the moment. Lovely integration of editor features, debugger, and especially docs.
Although not a native UI, it behaves predictably, and it's written in itself, so you can re-use its library of UI components, which is shockingly rich.
GDScript is tidy and flexible without the esoteric compsci-y feeling I get from many other modern languages. Learning curve is very low if you do any other programming.
Here's a prototype of an item-collection mechanic that I slapped together quickly, inspired by Vampire Survivors of course. Sorry about the art.

Thinking about how pretty much all modern cars collect boatloads of telemetry about your driving habits, presumably to sell back to insurance companies, and what the implications might be of my car telling me I'm entering a one-way street the wrong way for every floor I go up of our office's parking garage, logging me an average of 3 wrong one-way street entrances per working day. It's probably fine.

If you're looking for something meaty to watch, MinnMax's video profile of Panic is a great overview of our increasingly hard-to-explain company.
You can tour our new office, see some nutty ephemera, company history, our Playdate setup for Portland Retro Gaming Expo, and me for about 3 seconds if you're paying attention. (I prefer not being on camera 😂)

Good localization is one of those skills that the better you are at it the less noticeable it becomes. So it's good to see a spotlight shone on some painstaking work. https://www.pcgamer.com/games/adventure/how-translators-performed-the-herculean-task-of-localizing-the-most-incomprehensibly-british-videogame-of-all-time-into-german-portuguese-and-traditional-chinese-what-on-earth-are-these-characters-even-talking-about/

Kudos to my wife for listening patiently to an extended rant about the text formatting options in the iPhone notes app being behind a button labeled (+) in the toolbar and not anywhere else in the toolbar or above the keyboard or in the text selection contextual menu or anywhere else that might make the slightest sense.

My #Amiga survived its transatlantic roundtrip to get recapped. 68030, 16 GB FastRAM, DVI output, 3.2 ROMs, internal and PCMCIA CF cards for storage and file transfer, EasyNet PCMCIA card, brand new modern PSU, USB floppy drive replacement. And, of course, the purple case.
Hoping another run of black keycaps are made. I also have the black wireless tank mouse, but I think I need a USB-BT adapter for it.
The amount of dopamine produced when I use it is off the charts. 👍 #RetroComputing
