I added support for audio-only clips to the editor and then added some wave breaking and underwater sounds to the demo. Video editing is pretty fun :D

I threw together some stock footage to demo the video editor I'm working on. Big Buck Bunny fatigue is real

Could someone with knowledge of #browser internals help me out with a WebGL issue?

On some browser/OS/device combinations, copying an <img> to a texture results in an apparently empty/black texture. I do await img.decode() before calling gl.texImage2D() and it works on the devices and browsers I've tested, but for some people, the texture appears to be empty.

Is image.decode() not enough preparation? Must I wait for the image.onload event or use createImageBitmap?

I'll probably use this polyfill for audio encoding on Safari: https://github.com/ennuicastr/libavjs-webcodecs-polyfill. Non native video encoding on mobile devices would probably be too slow to be worth while?

For later: would a WebCodecs implementation for React Native and NativeScript be a good idea?

Doesn't work on Firefox for android since it's missing WebCodecs support nor on iOS which has VideoEn/Decoder, but not audio

in my defense, all the frameworks I tried were either too big for the framework-agnostic libs I'm making or they weren't ✨reactive✨ enough

might have been overkill to make my own JSX runtime, but that's a problem for future me https://gitea.com/miru/miru/src/branch/main/packages/shared/framework/jsx-runtime.ts

Making the custard: this is the most beautiful thing I've ever created

Adding the butter and oil: oh god, what is this mess, oh no

Adding the last egg: so smooth, so cooperative. A masterpiece

A friend of mine recently had an SSD failure (the data was recovered and copied to a new drive in the end). I'd love to be able to point them to a remote backup solution that's recommended by GNOME! I have my stuff backed up with Pika and it works great, but it's not easy to set up for most people.

Ideally, you could install Pika or Déjà Dup, choose "GNOME backups" as the target location, register and set up payment, and done.

Hi folks! Would you benefit from image and video editing built into Fediverse Web apps like Mastodon, GoToSocial and Pixelfed?

I'm a Web developer working on media editing tools with funding from @NGIZero, and I'm looking for feedback.
