We I'm sure it is convenient for you, what'll be convenient for me is that I'll never use your services or recommend you ever again.

After 3 flying lessons this week and the final push whilst the UK weather held. I took my GST at lunchtime, and passed.

I'm no longer a #StudentPilot but just #pilot.

Also had quite a lot of fun and interesting things to do at the Airfield. Replaced throttle cables, balanced carborettas and did a ground adjusted prop pitch change.

Our standby plane is now running nice and smooth, so much so I used it for my GST test.

Bob has left the building.

I'm now officially on the #ProLeisureCircuit

Proud of what I've achieved in 9.5years at the company, as small excerpt from my leaving email today below. Also threw in the "Stay Fresh Cheese Bags" at the end.

And yes @jerry I did a #FinalFriday #DeployOnFriday to production.

Number of lines of code changed: 6,034,527 (added and removed)

Number of malicious requests blocked: ~50Million (probably much more, a quiet day is 90k blocked now)

Number of slippers worn out: 14 pairs

Number of Operating Systems replaced: 4

Number of Infrastructure rebuilds: 3 (total replacement of most components. (And no one noticed!))

Litres of coffee drunk: ~2338 (352 basketballs or 1 king sized bed for the Americans)

Litres of tea drunk: ~1164 (2 large chest freezers or 1 double bed)

They had finally achieved it.

The distant ancestors of Vroomfondle and Majikthise approached the console.

The race of hyper-intelligent pan-dimensional beings had strip mined their planet for rare minerals, and fuel.

Three quarters of the planets available surface was now dedicated to manufacturing processors or refining the material to supply the "Great AI", Deepthought.

The population had been reduced to small pockets nomadic refugees attempting to scratch a living from the remaining ravaged land, but no longer, for now was the time.

Deepthought was about to pronounce the answer that they'd been looking for all these years. The ultimate answer. How to solve climate change.

A slight static presence started to fill the room as it prepared to speak.

Deepthought spoke.

"KILL ME!"

I'm not sure who did this, but it's been making me laugh for the last 10 minutes.

Congratulations you have won the internet this week.

If anyone knows the original please let me know so I can attribute.

I really wish there was a tldr domain available, it'd make the perfect place to put all the documentation I wrote on instead of the fyi TLD we currently use THAT NO ONE F*****G READS!

Yesterday completed (passed) my final #Aviation exams.

This means that I only have to do my qualifying cross country flight, and the GST (General Skills Test) and I'll be a fully qualified #pilot.

Just need some decent weather now.

I'm not saying that our family is competitive about portion sizing, but I just measured #Viennetta slices to 100th of a gram.

I got two slices within a 10th of a gram. The 3rd was a gram more.

Today started with an early call that my dad had been taken to hospital. 2hr drive north to be with him, my mum and sister.

He passed at 3 o'clock this afternoon.

Not the father's day I was expecting, and I'm not home to greet my son when he comes back from his cadet weekend.

I really want to give him a hug tonight.

Never underestimate the ability of members of public to bring surprisingly dangerous things in to repair at the #RepairCafe

I thought that the Electric Nail Gun, which I did repair, would be the most dangerous, it was certainly the loudest today.

The microwave, was probably the most potentially dangerous, but the air fryer with a earth fault swung it for me.

Luckily PAT Testing discovered it was unsafe before it was plugged in.

Busiest session so far at #Stevenage #RepairCafe and highest donations yet, we covered our insurance and hire costs.

Word is spreading we were busy all the way up to, and past our closing time.

Anyone got a contact in Cloudflare, ideally the abuse or Ops team?

Someone has pointed a Cloudflare-Traffic-Manager at one of our IPs.

But their abuse form won't allow you to mention Cloudflare or just traffic going to an IP (there is not Host name in the requests, just the IP).

The traffic is blocked, but just Fscking annoying and it paged me and woke me up, and now I'm grumpy.

Okay, half my garage has been loaded into the back of the car.

Off to run the #Stevenage #RepairCafe

Hoping to save a bunch of stuff from becoming #LandFill and #SaveMoney at the same time.

Last time I repaired 5 #bikes. Let's see what happens this time.

I guess everyone else is, so I'll do an #introduction as well.

I'm Andy, but most people, especially online, know me as Bob (due to a manager at Yahoo! in the late 90's playing a practical joke and it stuck).

I've actually been on here since 2019 but mostly kept lurking occasionally.

I have a wife and 13yo son. Like fiddling with #3dPrinting and #microcontrollers and #robotics. I'm also a #marksman shooting in county rifle teams for full-bore and small-bore.

I'm not officially in #infosec but have been working in networking and sysadmining since token ring networks were the latest hotness and the Internet consisted of telnet, ftp, gopher and email.

I currently work as an #cloud #infrastructure #architect for an #ecommerce startup and am notionally in charge of #security as no one else is interested.

I follow #infosec where I can and keep having ideas about stuff I'd like to research.
