The main points about #vifm were (for me, of course) one/two panels (like #mc), the possibility to have a preview, some shortcuts which resemble #vi. The main points for #lf were the preview and having 3 columns showing also the previous directory. But in both cases the preview slows down the operations (and as it’s done for all the files/dirs, it may slow down quite a lot) and I don’t need it so often. Actually only one panel is enough, most of the times. #nnn still permits quite easily to ->

-> go to the destination address when copying files (and that’s the only reason to have two panels visible at the same time), it doesn’t have previews and it’s fast. Ok, #vifm can have one single panel too, but… Generally speaking, nnn is probably faster and more usable for me. I like also the fact that going further than the end of the file list you go again at the beginning, instead of stopping. So probably I’ll keep nnn at the end. Let’s see.

Tried #lf as file manager. No, I prefer #nnn and #vifm. The former more than the latter, probably. I’ll give #vifm another shot, but…

Tempted to try another file manager. I now use sometimes #nnn and sometimes #vifm, but they also suggest me #lf. Has anyone tried them all? #OpenBSD

Ok. Reading finished. Nice. And it praises #Plan9 for being such simple (read: less complex) and still do what you may need, as well as #Haikuos.

Reading an interesting article about the increasing complexity of Unix-like OSes during time. Still at the first pages, but looking forward to read about #Plan9 and #Haiku.

Tried again to install #haikuos on my HP Mini. The install seemed to work fine, but again when I reboot the system and take out the SD card to boot from the HD I get only a kernel panic and no other possibilities. And if I put in again the SD card to install another time, same kernel panic. Pity.

Adapted my first source for the #9front #troff instead of #OpenBSD’s Heirloom one… and now I can insert also .ps pictures, which oddly were not embedded under BSD. Next step could be to try and add a #CJK font and try to input #Japanese under 9front. Any hint? Is it possible to insert PDF marks under 9front, using Troff? Are they supported?

Hmmm… USB pens should be automagically mounted under /shr, but… I can’t see anything.
