Tested and used the Jolla C2 and its a great designed phone with long battery life, but similar to Sailfish Phones i used more than 6 years ago it is still suffering from:

1. doesnt reliably connect mobile data 4G

2. sim and mobile data connection disappears, crashes, restarting network subsystem does not help

3. does not connect to Open VPN at all, doesnt prompt for username and password and doesnt use password.conf/txt file either

Shoutout to Linux-Wifi-Hotspot developers! The Wifi Hotspot app works flawlessly. The gnome-settings hotspot did not work at all and I could not connect to the gnome hotspot wifi. It also would continuously toggle on and off.

Wifi Hotspot is solid, just works, even has the QR code. You can also route the wifi traffic through your tun0 connection for openVPN, which is awesome.

After several years of using Linux with OpenVPN i finally figured out how to have the VPN connection be established at time of login. Open org.gnome.nmconnectioneditor and next to openvpn password select store password for all users.
