Simply great to see another epic success for the UK being queued up.

What an absolutely farcical waste of money. 😩

I’ve never seen an episode of Gavin & Stacey.

More than happy for this to remain the case.

It’s a long shot, but back when macOS was Mac OS (~1992, to be precise), I had a fantastic TrueType font called “Jam” which was a typewriter style font where some of the letters were degraded.

Doesn’t anyone out there remember this font? Or, better still, have a copy?

This year’s harvest has been poor and winter approaches.

On the up-side…

Still shilling that creaky old iOS app I created.

Arses. I appear to have one less job than I had as of this morning.

Start-ups don't always succeed of course - it’s just a pity in this instance, as they were a really good bunch of people.

Still, I’m sure there’s just heaps of jobs around for people who can only work part-time and remotely due to chronic illness. 🤔

Loving my t-shirt and print from This Thing They Call Recovery.

It’s also great to be able to support a small business - especially one owned by a fellow #mecfs sufferer.

Be sure to check out their fantastic designs at https://www.thisthingtheycallrecovery.com

@Bobbins I appreciate it’s a long shot, but…

I’ve been attempting to identify a film, likely from the 70’s or 80’s, which I saw as a lad. It features a scene with a woman that’s been chained to a rock and drowned and is now floating about underwater in a flowing white dress.

It might also feature someone getting stabbed in their belly-button or similar, but it’s entirely possible I’m conflating that with The Exorcist.

Don’t suppose any of this rings any bells with you?

In a just world, the final boss battle in Bloodborne would be set to the theme from Bubble Bobble.

As a long term fan of Apple, an awful lot of what @craiggrannell says here rings very true…

https://reverttosaved.com/2024/03/23/some-brief-personal-thoughts-on-apple-and-regulatory-fights/

I'd like to think Apple will come out of the various investigations a better company, both for developers and end users, but based on their recent malicious compliance response to the EU, I'm not hopeful.

It's just a pity they can't be visionary in terms of being developer friendly and customer focused, rather than being all about the bottom line.

I’ve a vague temptation to make the app completely free to use, before stripping out all the contributed palette and character set assets from the code repositories and moving everything over to GitHub.

However, the code is harrowingly low-quality in places and being realistic I don’t see there being much interest in terms of anyone contributing fixes or improvements, so I’m not sure what that would achieve beyond there being more work for me.

Hmm… that @retrospecs iOS app I created will have been in the App Store for 10 years in June.

I’m an ideal world I’d celebrate this anniversary, perhaps with an update filled with exciting new features, but due to my ME/CFS I’ve zero energy left after my part-time job and my increasingly aged laptop only begrudgingly runs Xcode and the iOS simulator.

(Incidentally, I’m one of the lucky ones in terms of ME/CFS in that I can just about work part-time from home, but that’s a whole other thing.)

Hmm… I appear to be retreating from social media.

So that’s nice.

Until next time. 🫠
