I needed some levity in my life, and so I finally broke down and got a subscription to #Dropout. I have since become painfully obsessed with #MakeSomeNoise, one of their flagship improv comedy shows. I haven't laughed this fully in years. It might be the kind of thing I need to keep my spirits up over the next couple of years.

[#]Windblown just isn't working for me as my next big #SteamDeck time sink. It's just too linear and repetitive to keep my interest, and I think it's aimed at a more hardcore a gamer than me. I loved #DeadCells and Marvel's Midnight Suns before that (and #AnimalCrossingNH before that). I game on an exercise bike so turn-based play and action that doesn't require intense attention and reflexes is good, and reading a lot of text is not good. Anyone have some recommendations?

And, for the record, there has been at least one complete asshole on the Fedi who decided to lay into me over my enjoyment of Beaujolais Nouveau. He was complete garbage to me, my collection, the wines I've made myself, etc, because apparently you can't have good taste and knowingly enjoy a bottle of hastily-made schlock once a year.

People like that need to touch grass, then consider burying themselves under said grass for the benefit of humanity.

It's that time of year when I wave my middle finger at #wine snobs on the Fediverse and unapologetically enjoy some #BeaujolaisNouveau. Yes, I know it's not good wine. But my great uncle always brought some to Thanksgiving, along with every New Yorker cartoon clipped out for me to enjoy. Most 12 year-olds don't laugh at New Yorker cartoons. I realize only in retrospect he was likely neurodivergent and ace and recognized my eccentricities.

Bottoms up, uncle, wherever you are.

I gave it a few days to see if it was just an oversight, but at this point I must conclude that the djs.social domain is gone and with it my @mxks account. So, I need to start over again. Can anyone recommend an instance for a #dj account? If not, I'll just start one over here.

My family is in the process of "adopting" some semi-feral kittens as indoor-outdoor cats in our family. One of them likes to climb a tree and get on the first story roof. Both are very curious about our life inside the house. And so my partner, while taking a shower, looked to his side to see this in the shower's vent window... #CatsOfMastodon

This #Paralympics, I decided to commit to watching and learning as wide a range of the sports as possible. I've enjoyed them all, and it's not my first time watching some. This year, though, I am particularly dumbfounded and mesmerized by blind soccer. It's like watching teams consisting entirely of Daredevil play soccer.
