@thunderbird do you have recommendations on trustworthy email hosting to leave behind #google / #gmail ?

Yes I may have to pay, that is OK if it is an ethical / responsible host. #ProtonMail and #Tuta are options, but I am wanting something that is less revolutionary, currently I don't use encryption for email, so simple imap service to use with #Thunderbird is what I am looking for. I can add my own encryption myself to be more secure down the line.

@briancmoses @ironicbadger long time linuxer but first time NASer

I have a fanless Asus PN42 (N100) already as a tinker box, would using a USB3.2 JBOD enclosure work or cause grief? Main use is backup server for me and a few others (no media streaming yet but??). Add nextcloud etc services on the PN42 NVME. So main system + services on the same NVME?

BTW current Synology person, but too frustrating for full linux.
