Encrypt your data when storing it on the cloud. If you are using Google Drive, OneDrive - use rclone.org and add the encryption! The keys will be on your local device! (Rclone.org supports more than just Google Drive and OneDrive - check the doc).

If you use iCloud, enable Advanced Data Protection (ADP) ASAP. If you have an old device that prevents you from doing this, then best to limit the data you store on iCloud. #xp

I have an old i7 Mac mini (used by the kids) and an M2 Mac mini. Am trying to get a dedicated Linux box that is more powerful than the Raspberry Pi 5 with 8GB RAM (and SSD). Here’s the thing: should I get one of those AMD Ryzen NUCs or get an M4 Mac mini, upgrade the kids' Mac Mini to the M2 and use the i7 Mac Mini to run Linux.

What do you recommend? #xp

If DeepSeek R1 is truly open source, can they please publish so we can remove the Chinese propaganda it’s trained on?

It is a FREE TO USE MODEL, like Llama, and despite the claims of Meta and DeepSeek, BOTH ARE NOT TRULY OPEN SOURCE!
