What I can't figure out.... is who collects, remits & enforces #tariffs ?
With a tax... the seller does. But Canada won't be adding this to our US-bound invoices. Are American buyers supposed to just be honest & pay it? Is US border patrol stopping physical shipments and charging a fee at the border like with import duty?
Will this spawn a bunch of "under the table" shipping?
How does the accounting around this just spring up over night? 🤔

I grew up seeing the lights of the bridge to the US from my parents' window (until the trees grew too tall). Most of my life I've made flippant comments about how similar our countries are & how performative the border always seemed to me. How naive I was.
I live in an automotive city that relies on Just In Time cross-border trade. We're going to grind to a halt quickly over here if automakers slow or halt production. It'll be bloody painful.

I have to speak honestly as a Canadian today. It feels insulting & hurtful to be facing tariffs from our biggest neighbour, trading partner & cultural sibling.
I keep remembering the many times I've donated to relief efforts for things like 9/11, hurricanes, etc in the USA. Despite having 0 actual friends or family in America. Vacations & scores of day-trips. And this is what we get from half the voting population down there??

BOTH our Federal government and the Provincial government here in #Ontario have called elections, freezing government operations & effectively tied our hands behind our backs.

My kids and I are doing a game jam (#GGJ), spent a week on a cute game... and I have spent soul-crushing day trying to get this thing to export for any platform. Trying to keep a brave face for the kids but I'm at table-flip levels of frustrated. 😭
