Japan Meeting of Furries was really different from the European cons the we had visited so far. An interesting experience for sure. Thanks to our Friends Youki & Gustav who dragged us along - without them we would have been pretty lost.

Did you know that the magic monstera leaves on Gustl's back work like wings that enable him to move a lot faster than regular sloths? Since they drain a lot of mana, he can only keep pace for a brief time period.

The time i hacked myself:
So a club mate from my hackerspace @schaffenburg asked for assistance in digitizing on old VHS tape. i said of course, no big deal, i've done that before, i've got an old desktop PC with a Hauppauge PCI frame grabber.
So for the first time 3 in years I try to boot up that machine and naturally, i forgot my 20+ letter LUKS passphrase. I remember most of it so I compiled a custom dictionary with all different pre- and suffixes and booted a live Kali Linux to run hashcat.

Es wird unaufhaltsam Herbst. Endlich eine Jahreszeit, in der man bequem Fursuiten kann ohne den instantanen Hitzetod zu sterben.
Wir lieben den Heilbronner Walk besonders, weil man hinterher zusammen in das direkt in der Innenstadt gelegene Thermalbad gehen kann und nicht musky zum essen muss.

Das war wirklich wieder ein klassisches Beispiel für geplante Obsoleszenz durch die Firma Bosch. 🖕 Die Platine hat zwar wunderbare sogar beschriftete Testpunkte, aber ein Akkutausch ist firmenpolitisch gewollt nicht vorgesehen. Das ist ein über 300 Euro teurer Staubsauger, der gerade mal 2 Jahre lang gehalten hat. Wir HackerInnenen und Reperaturaktivistinnen können hier wirklich magische Dinge vollbringen - helft euren nächsten dabei sich nicht von der Industrie verarschen zu lassen! 🛠️

Der Bosch Athlet-Staubsauger meiner Cousine war kaputt und weigerte sich nach einem Akkutausch mit einem "Akku leer"-Fehler anzugehen, obwohl der voll geladen war.
Turns out die Original-Firmware verhindert damit aktiv einen Akkutausch. Zum Glück haben eifrige HackerInnen bereits eine Alternativ-Firmware geschrieben, mit der der Staubsauger wiederbelebt werden konnte!

Hat ein paar Stunden gedauert, allerdings war der mit Abstand größte Aufwand dabei, die abgerissenen Schrauben auszubohren. Die Ersatzdichtungen wurden innerhalb von 2 Werktagen geliefert. Funktioniert hoffentlich nochmal 12 Jahre! #RepairoftheDay

Die Sensorplatine habe ich mit Hochtemperatur-Silikon neu festgeklebt und außerdem mit einer Feder versehen, die sie von unten hoch drücken sollte. Das Kochfeld wurde nämlich bereits innerhalb der Garantiezeit 2x repariert und schließlich getauscht wegen genau dieses Problems.

Natürlich waren auch die ganzen Dichtungen total spröde und mussten ersetzt werden. Okay, fair, nach ca. 12 Jahren war das zu erwarten.
Die Dichtungen gibt es als kompletten Reparatursatz bei Bosch für über 100 Euro, oder einzeln für ca. 60,-
Allerdings findet man die Explosionszeichnung mit den Ersatzteilnummern nicht, weil es ein Gasgerät ist. Die Hotline hilft einem aber netterweise. Die ganze Korrosion kam natürlich, weil das alles nicht mehr dicht war. Das hab ich so gut es ging abgebürstet

Letzte Woche ging mein modernes Bosch Glaskeramik-Gaskochfeld nicht mehr. Das Problem war, dass sich eine kleine Platine auf der sich die LEDs und Photodioden befinden, von der Rückseite des Glases gelöst hatten. Dementsprechend haben die Touch-Sensoren nicht funktioniert und es ließ sich gar nicht mehr einschalten.
Bevor man die Glasplatte abnehmen kann, muss man sämtliche Brenner aufschrauben. Das ging bei den 4 kleinen problemlos, aber bei dem Wokbrenner sind natürlich 2 Schrauben abgerissen.

Mich stört diese "Ausblenden"-Schaltfläche über jedem Bild. Warum sollte ich etwas ausblenden wollen was nicht hinter einem CW-Filter steht? Die Schaltfläche ist so groß, dass sie bei vielen Grafiken relevante Informationen überdeckt. Kann 1 das semitransparent machen oder durch ein kleines 👁️ -Icon ersetzen oder so? Kennt wer einen Trick?
