My podcast colleague @sir_pepe just released a new version of https://code.movie/ (@diff2gif) which turns a series of code snippets into a controllable, step-by-step code transitioning web component.

Great for trainings, workshops and to integrate into web-based presentation frameworks like reveal.js!

Hey there!

My brother and I will be visiting Iceland for a week in January and we plan on watching the aurora borealis, whales ofc, visit the blue ice cave and go snorkling 🥶

One idea he had was to do a trip around the island by car. Our question to people in the know: Is that even possible? Or is it too dark and/or the streets too blocked?

Just came across a photo from a JS framework conference speaker's dinner—no idea who any of them are! I must always be tying my shoelaces when they pass by. 😅

Do you folks know of a conference similar in spirit to the likes of SmashingConf, beyond tellerrand, Fronteers, CSS Day, JS/CSSConf, etc. but for PHP? In Englisch, single tracked, no sponsored talks, and with a welcoming and friendly community?

@svgeesus I just stumbled upon the media/feature query dynamic-range and remembering what you told me about the difference between wide gamut vs. HDR (peak brightness), could it be that it is missnamed given how it works in browsers right now? Example in case:

@media (dynamic-range: high) {

.neon-pink {

--neon-glow: color(display-p3 1 0 1);

}

}

https://web.dev/blog/state-of-css-2022#:~:text=%40media%20(dynamic%2Drange%3A%20high)%20%7B%0A%20%20.neon%2Dpink%20%7B%0A%20%20%20%20%2D%2Dneon%2Dglow%3A%20color(display%2Dp3%201%200%201)%3B%0A%20%20%7D%0A%7D

Or is Display P3 wide gamut and high dynamic at the same time?

@argyleink Q, because I have been wondering about this for ages: is it a technical limitation that overscroll-behavior: contain/none only works on scroll containers? Because so many times I have the case that some foreground UI is visible and I would like to block any scroll attempts from propagating to the back, but I just can't, if the foreground thing doesn't scroll. So I have to resort to forcing it to be scrollable (100% + 1px inner height) while at the same time hiding the scrollbars.

"So you think you know box shadows?" by David Gerrells is an amazing and playful experiment. You should have a look at it: https://dgerrells.com/blog/how-not-to-use-box-shadows
